Recently published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, the study “Electronic cigarettes disrupt lung lipid homeostasis and innate immunity independent of nicotine” found that it was propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) responsible for the damaging effects on the lungs. PG and VG are the primary carriers found in ecigarettes and some CBD vape pens.
